About this policy
This policy explains what information RunMySport collects, how we use it and who sees it. It covers runmysport.com, members.runmysport.com and the league sites we host.
What we collect
Account: your email address and name.
Eligibility and registration: your birth date, and the other details a league asks for when you register, such as phone, address and emergency contact.
League activity: rosters, schedules, scores, stats, messages and the content a league posts.
Photos that you or your league upload.
Payments: Stripe takes payments. We store no card details. Stripe gives us the payment status and the amounts.
Security: the address your device connects from. We keep it only as a one-way hash, and remove it shortly after the limit window ends. We use it to limit abuse, such as repeated sign-in attempts and form spam.
How we use it
We use your information to run the service: to sign you in, to build your league's site, schedules and stats, to send the emails the service needs, to take payments and to keep the service secure.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Your league. The league that runs a site sees the information its members give it, and decides who else in the league can see it.
Stripe, which processes payments.
ForwardEmail, which delivers the sign-in and league emails.
Cloudflare, which hosts and delivers our pages, stores uploaded photos and files, and runs Web Analytics. Web Analytics measures visits to runmysport.com and to league sites: the pages viewed, the browser and the country. It sets no cookies and does not follow you between sites.
DigitalOcean, which hosts our application servers and database.
Scorebook Import: when a league uses it, the photos of its scorebook pages are sent to Chutes, OpenAI and Anthropic, who read the numbers and names on them.
YouTube and Vimeo: when a league page shows one of their videos, the video's provider receives your visit to it.
We share information with others only when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
Leagues control their members' data
A league decides what it collects and who in the league sees it. For the people in a league, the league is the controller of their data and RunMySport handles it on the league's behalf.
Your league holds its records about you, and they are kept as the league's history. To correct something, ask the league.
Children and Parent/Guardians
A player under 13 has no sign-in. A Parent/Guardian registers the player and acts for them. From 13 to 17, a Parent/Guardian may give the player their own sign-in.
A minor's email and phone are seen only by the minor, their Parent/Guardians, their team's manager and the league's commissioner. A minor's birth date, address and emergency contact are seen only by their Parent/Guardians, the manager and the commissioner.
On public pages a minor appears as a first name and a last initial. A minor's player page and photos are for signed-in members only, and a league cannot make them public.
A message to a minor also goes to their Parent/Guardians.
We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child under 13. If you think we have, contact us and we will act on it.
Privacy controls
A league chooses which pages are public and who can see each contact detail. A Parent/Guardian may hide their own details. A guest sees no contact details.
You can see and correct your own details on your account pages.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in, to carry a one-time message, such as "Saved", to the next page, to remember a sign-up in progress, and to confirm which browser started a sign-in.
We set no tracking or advertising cookies.
Keeping information
We keep your information while your league uses RunMySport. A league that cancels is read-only after its term and a 30-day grace period.
A league owns its records, and we keep them as its history. A league that has not played a season can ask us to close it.
Security
We protect information with encrypted connections, sign-in links and codes that expire, and access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise it.
Changes to this policy
We may change this policy. When a change matters, we will email commissioners and post the new policy here.
